My dance story started when I gave my heart to the Lord in 1997. I joined a mission group Reach and their way of leading people to Christ was through the ministry of arts. During the year we would have conferences, trainings for the different arts, camps, outreaches and workshops. I would always go to the praise and worship workshops and the dance workshops.

I was a young convert, but it was through these trainings and outreaches that I saw that the dance ministry is where God wanted to use me. We had various trainings facilitated by ballet teachers and professional dancers. We did outreaches at shopping malls, prisons, beaches, anywhere where we could spread the gospel through arts and many gave their hearts to the Lord.

I went to different towns to minister and the dance groups were always proffesional in their attire and in their dancing, but when I came back to my town, nothing was happening there. So the Lord said to me it’s no use you dancing over South Africa, but nothing is happening in your own town. I heard through a friend of mine of CDFEC so we went to two workshops in Pe. One of these workshops Liesl Townsend facilitated. I met her at one of our Reach conferences in Pe,  where she was also the facilitator of one of the workshops. CDFEC at that time did a 6 months foundation course and I asked her if they could do it in Uitenhage. After that I started Uitenhage Dance Company. The company started with 70 dancers, 30 youth and adults and 40 children. CDFEC came to Uitenhage every Monday and we did the 6 months course, different teachers teaching us different types of dancing.

In 2005 I went to my first CDFSA’s National conference in Durban and 2018 in Cape Town. In 2006 I went to Malaysia for my first ICDF international conference and in 2019 I went to my second one in India. I did the Living Dance International training in Cape Town and attended various other workshops around our country. I was the regional dance leader of the Assemblies of God regional fellowship in the Eastern Cape where I trained all the dancers an opening dance for our regions. I use to travel to all the churches and teach them the dance. I facilitated workshops in Jeffreysbay, King Williamstown, Aliwal North, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage, Graffreinet and various other places. I was also facilitating workshops at our national conference in Cape Town. I also trained lots of groups in Uitenhage, Jeffreysbay, Port Elizabeth, Graffreinet and King Williamstown and coordinated mass dances for interchurch prayer days on fields and our staduims. I’m also an advisor for many groups and assist them in many ways. I also give away many of our old attire to young groups that are starting and do not have dance clothes.

My heart is for the untrained dancer and to teach groups the foundation of Christian dancing, to teach them the different ways how we can glorify our King, but most of all when our Daddy see us dancing that He will say, “there is my daughter/son in whom I am well pleased”
